You have to use such a short range of motion and you should contract the muscle also and many of you are thinking why we should not use full range of motion, the reason is if you use full range of motion you abs will get rest when you lie down and there will be less stress on the muscle. So if there is no rest in between the exercise it will surely create tension on the abs and make them grow.
